Our Story

Royal Ibis was founded on a simple conviction: that high-quality psychological support should be accessible, approachable, and genuinely helpful. Too often, people delay seeking help because the process feels intimidating or unclear.

We established this practice to offer something different. From your first enquiry to your ongoing sessions, every interaction is designed to be straightforward and respectful of your time and circumstances.

Our practitioners come from diverse backgrounds in clinical psychology, counselling, and coaching. What unites us is a shared commitment to evidence-based practice and a genuine interest in supporting each client's unique journey.

Our Guiding Principles

Evidence-Based Practice

We draw on approaches that have been tested and refined through rigorous research. This includes cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred counselling, and mindfulness-based interventions, selected based on what the evidence suggests works best for specific concerns.

Client-Centred Approach

You are the expert on your own life. Our role is to provide professional perspective, structured support, and evidence-based techniques while respecting your autonomy and understanding of your situation.

Ethical Integrity

All our practitioners adhere to professional codes of ethics and maintain appropriate boundaries. Confidentiality is protected within legal limits, and we are transparent about what you can expect from our services.

How We Work

Each therapeutic relationship at Royal Ibis begins with an initial consultation. This session allows us to understand your concerns, discuss what you hope to achieve, and determine the best approach for your situation. There is no obligation to continue after this first meeting.

If we agree to work together, sessions typically occur weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs and preferences. The duration of the work varies considerably; some clients achieve their goals within a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support.

Throughout our work together, we regularly review progress and adjust our approach as needed. Your feedback is essential to this process. We want to know what is helpful, what feels less useful, and how we can better support your goals.
